This year in science, we have been studying our five senses. This week we are focusing on our sense of taste. We tasted jelly beans, but not just any jelly beans, we tried Bertie Bott's Beans. Flavors included banana, blueberry and watermelon, but also dirt, earthworm, soap and grass! The kids had a great time guessing the flavors.

First Day of School
Notes for the first day:
- If you have not done so already, please let me know Monday morning how your child is getting home. You can also e-mail me at burrelll@duvalschools.org We are also asking that you write on your child's hand or put a sticker on them with how they get home. This will make the beginning and end of the day go much smoother.
- The first day of school, you are welcome to walk your child to our class and help them unpack and get settled. At 8:15, there will be a "Boo hoo to Woo hoo" Breakfast in the library for all kindergarten parents.
- The supply list can be found in the "Everything You Need to Know" tab on this blog. If you have not purchased the pencil box already, there are small, skinny boxes at Wal-mart that are 50 cents that work perfect for kindergarten.
- Please send in the paperwork that you received at orientation as soon as possible. For those of you who could not attend, I will be sending home the paperwork Monday in the B.E.E. book. Please make sure you send the B.E.E. book back each day so I can send home papers and information you will need.
- ALL notes and information will be in the B.E.E. book or in the planner which will be inside the B.E.E. book. Please check both each day and send back.
- If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail me anytime. I will get back to you within 24 hours.
- I am so excited for the first day of school! This is going to be a great year full of learning and fun!
